Edith Fortuna Lansell’s Bedroom (Daughter of George and Edith - mostly referred to as Annie)

It’s fair to say Edith was George’s favourite child. As his only daughter, she was the only one of his six children to have her bedroom on this level. All of the boys resided upstairs in the Nursery.

Later in life Edith took the Lansell family wealth back to the old country of England where she purchased number 50 Pall Mall London and other significant properties in Pall Mall. She was famously known for her parties and once sent 100 invitations to her Australian friends, which included a return boat ticket and spending money (so is now also known as the Party Room).

The ensuite and fire nook was once the main communication room for any Australian military action and had a false ceiling that housed alarms of top secret proportion.

The wardrobe is an original Fortuna Villa piece of furniture and the etched glass in the ensuite must be seen to be believed. The far right leadlight was re-built from scratch in the recent renovations carried out by the Banks Family.
