Turret & East Staircase (1904). Its design influenced by the French Second Empire with rounded tower and pressed lead roof, this cupola more than any other feature gives Fortuna its most distinctive appearance. The second reconstruction of this stairway leading from the Entrance Hall to the lower floor, it features colourful lead light windows that depict some of Lansell’s journeys to Europe and his sentiment, “East Or West Home Is Best”.
